While networking, I run into many "competitors" who come across as unfriendly or defensive when they learn of the company I represent. I always go out of my way to make sure I meet these individuals. To be honest I don't view them as competitors; they are just another business trying to grow their business like me. I am always willing to brainstorm, compare notes, refer vendors, and even do business with each other. There is plenty of work to go around and we can all learn from and help each other.
